You Can’t Take My Rainbow

I’m sure it will come as no surprise to you that I stand on Gods side when it comes to the subject of homosexuality. The bible clearly states that is a sin in the Old Testament and New Testament. So let’s look at the old Testiment first.

Leviticus 20:13 “if a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own hands.”  I know this seems harsh in our world of ever growing softies but the truth is one day we will all face judgment and either have Eternal life or Eternal death. Let us not forget that we no longer are obligated to follow the old laws of the Old Testament because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Thankfully, it is not our duty to physically make others pay for their sins that is all in Gods hands and he will do the judging.

Let’s Move on to the New Testament. Romans 1:26-28 “because of this God gave them over to lust. Even their woman exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversions.”

1 Corinthians 6-7 “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God”

1 Corinthians 7:2 “…each man should have his own wife, each woman her own husband.” Not each man can have his own husband or wife nor each woman can have her own wife or husband but that marriage is one man and one woman.

Now that you have the solid words of God on the matter of homosexuality. Let me just state the rainbow that God gave to Noah, you and me as a promise to never destroy the earth with a flood again is not up for grabs. It was made by God, as everything is, for us as a reminder of the great flood and a comforting promise that when it rains hard for days and days it will stop before the earth is completely covered. It is not and will not ever be a symbol of sexual sin.

If you see me walking down the street wearing my rainbow skirt or my daughter in her rainbow boots we aren’t praising anyone for their Life style of sin but simply thanking God for his promise.

As always I would love to hear your thoughts and opionions.
