Snack Box

I’ve been making these snack boxes the last few days and the kids have been loving them.

They have been so great for in between meals. I just pack them up while I’m making breakfast and put them on the lowest shelf in the fridge so they can reach them by themselves. I write their names on the top of their box. I also set a drink for each kid by their box. If you have little ones you know how exhausting it can be to cook three meals a day and get snacks for their little hands every 30 minutes. That’s how it is at my house anyway, my kids eat all the time! The boxes are made with things they each love, arnt to messy, and are generally “clean”. I usually fill them with fruits, cheeses, crackers, and somthing sweet but healthy. I get so tired of them grabbing a pre- made granola bar or snack cake for a snack. This way it’s less stress for me and WAY better for them.

The ball type cookies you see are protien balls. Here is how you make them.

Ingredients

1/2 cup oats

1/4 cup flax seed meal

1/4 cup wheat germ

1/2 cup peanut butter(I prefer natural)

1/3 cup pure raw honey(local if passible)

1/2 cup any kind of chocolate chips you like

1/2 cup shredded coconut(the kids like coconut but I don’t so when I make them just for me I use a scoop of vanilla protein powder instead)

Mix all of the ingredients in a big bowl with a wooden spoon until well combined then roll them into balls. Refrigerate if you aren’t going to eat immediately.

I only put things in the box that are refrigerator friendly so that all they need to do it grab them and eat. Hoping this makes your life a little more simple as it has made mine.
