One normal afternoon I had my three kids at the grocery store. It was a store we don’t normally go to but we happened to be in the neighborhood so we stopped in. I wasn’t having the best day. It was a very long morning. The kids were tired. I didn’t feel well and I had been stuck in a rut for quite some time. I felt like every day was the same. My weeks were starting to run together. I seemed to be cleaning up the same toys off the floor. Wiping up the same messes. Giving the same speeches on cleaning up and being kind to each other. I was just shuffling threw the last few weeks trying to survive and serve my family to the best of my ability but it seemed so mundane. While I was grocery shopping an older lady was watching me bag my groceries. If you have several children you can probably relate to the fact that people stare, a lot. I’ve just gotten used to being watched when I’m out in about with my circus. The lady pushed her cart over to mine and said “what you’re doing is very important” she saw the puzzled look on my face and responded to it by adding “raising children is the best job you could ever have and your doing great” I choked out a thank you and it was one of the most sincere thank you’s I had ever spoke. I whole heartedly believe the Holy Spirit gave those words to her that day because it was exactly what I needed to hear. It’s was simple what she said but so powerful because it was so genuine. God is amazing at taking care of us. He cares about what we care about. From the smallest things in life that might drive us crazy to the most important events in our lives.
Luke 16:10 says “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much…” Every small task you do is important. Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” Take pride in your daily lives. Whether you are at work or play keep your heart focused on the lord and all you do will be blessed and have purpose. Kara
