Ah love. Let’s talk about the earthly kind today. Love between one person and another.
There have been times when if I were asked what does it mean to love and be loved my answer would have been short and uncertain. I’ve longed for that feeling of love. That wonderful warm peace called love and when I didn’t feel it I didn’t believe I was loved. It doesn’t mean I wasn’t loved I just couldn’t feel it therefor never was quite sure if it existed. Does love exist even if you can’t feel it? The answer is yes!
Someone very wiese once told me love isn’t always a feeling it’s a choice. How true that is. Love is being kind when you don’t feel like it. Love is showing appreciation when you don’t feel appreciated. Love is deciding to doing the same that you would do for someone regardless of the love they have for you or the love they are showing you at the moment. That is true honest love. Selfless.
If you are still confused here are a few things In first Corinthians God says love is: patient, kind, always protects, always hopes, rejoices in truth, always trust, always perseveres and never fails.
Also in Corinthians God says what love is not. Love does not envy or boast. It is not proud, does not dishonor others, is not self seeking, not easily angered, keeps no record of wrongs and does not delight in evil.
I know it sounds like a tall order of things to be and not to be when you love someone but I love having it to read and be reminded to what standard I am held to. When I start to lose my way I can look back and see what things I can work on and be better at.
Here are a few versus to read for yourself about love.
