Shortbread Cookies

These little shortbread cookies are so simple to make and very tasty. They  go great with tea, coffee or just by themselves. With only four  ingredients they take no time at all. Yes four! So easy.

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

-2 sticks (1 cup) of butter cold and cut into small Cubs, the REAL kind no plastic junk!

-1 cups packed light brown sugar

-3 1/2 cups flour

-water

Mix your butter and sugar together with a mixer until mixed well. Then slowly add the flour. Once mixed well kneed the dough adding a little water until it’s about the consultancy of play dough. If you are having trouble getting it to stick together and is still a little dry just keep adding water until you get a good texture. Form it into a ball and refrigerate for at least 30min.

When your ready to make your cookies preheat the oven to 375. Roll out your dough on a lightly floured surface (I like to put wax paper down to help the dough not stick to the counter) and cut into shapes. This is my favorite part! Put them on a non greased cookie sheet and bake for 6-10 minutes depending on how crispy you like your cookies. I like mine soft so I do about 6-7 min. If you want you can sprinkle sugar on them before putting them in the oven.    Let them cool on a cooling rack and enjoy!
