Love ’em Anyway

Do you know anyone who is naturally difficult? Someone your pretty sure lives just to get under you skin? Although I’m sure this is not the case some people in our lives are that difficult to love. They push every button, maybe on purpose maybe not. They drive us crazy with hatful words or hurtful actions that I will not even try to understand. Although you may not enjoy it I believe these people are a very important part of our lives.

The ones who are difficult to love remind us of what true love and compassion really is. It is easy to love and be kind to people who love us. It just comes naturally. Loving someone who treats you badly or is amazingly irritating isn’t so easy.  Luke 6:32 says  “If you love those who love you ,what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you. 35. but love your enemies, do good to them…then your reward will be great” 36. be merciful just as your father is merciful”

We weren’t called to only love our brothers and sister in Christ. We weren’t called to love only our family and friends but to love EVERYONE. The cruel, wicked, evil and mean ones need our love too. Sometimes it is so hard to show Gods love to those who have hurt me or those who I just particularly am annoyed by. I will put on my big girl pants be a woman of God and do my best to honestly love my enemies. Such a wonderful peace comes along with showing love to those who don’t love us. A wonderful unearthly peace. I would trade a grudgeful heart for his peace any day.
