A Proverbs 31 Woman

Often when I think of this glorious image of the Proverbs 31 woman I get discouraged. This ideal woman that God speaks of can be pretty intimidating! I won’t write out the entire chapter for you because let’s face it that would be a lot of typing and one long post. However,  I will give you an idea of what it says. I encourage you to get you get your bible out and read the entire chapter.   Proverbs 31: “she brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.” I don’t know about you but I am guilty on many occasions of being the opposite of this. I will nag and complain at my husband instead of encourage and uplift him as I should.  Proverbs 31:15 “She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family…” Many days I can says I have served my family well in this aspect while other days I sleep longer than I should, I feed my family lazily and could accomplish way more than I do if I would get off my tail and serve my family as she does.

As my faith continues to grow I remind myself that reading this chapter doesn’t have to be so overwhelming. It can be a guiding light. A wonderful tool to turn to when I have gotten  of the right path and a great encouragement.  The verses that I love most from this chapter are Proverbs 31: 25&26 “She is clothed in strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” It’s a great reminder to me that I am strong. I do have dignity, that can so easily be lost in this world.  God will bestow wisdom on me and my tongue can be tamed. What an awesome statement that I can strive to live by and a great example to follow! I pray that this chapter will become as meaningful to you as it is to me. That you will always keep making an effort  to be who God designed you to be strong, dignified, hard working , wise, faithful woman who does not fear the future.
